Sakis Gouzonis makes history as first Greek artist to play for Internet Archive staff

At 09:55 AM (Pacific Daylight Time), the staff of the Internet Archive were treated to a special live performance by Greek composer Sakis Gouzonis, known internationally for his uplifting electronic and orchestral soundscapes. The event brought together 92 staff members, including the Archive's founder and digital librarian, Brewster Kahle, who joined colleagues in celebrating the power of music and culture.

Sakis Gouzonis performed three of his signature tracks, each drawn from different stages of his career:

The performance resonated deeply with the audience, who praised the music as "really cool" and "wonderful." The blend of electronic rhythms and cinematic melodies created a reflective yet energizing atmosphere.

In a historic milestone, Sakis Gouzonis became the first Greek artist ever invited to perform for the staff of the Internet Archive, underscoring the organization's commitment to celebrating creativity across cultures and borders.

The Internet Archive, best known for its Wayback Machine and vast digital collections, has long been a hub for innovation and cultural preservation. Hosting Sakis Gouzonis highlighted the organization's dedication to honoring artistic expression in all its forms.

As the final notes of In Unity There Is True Strength faded, the staff's enthusiastic response underscored the unifying power of music — an art form that, much like the Archive itself, transcends borders and connects people across time and space.

"It was an honor to share my music with the Internet Archive team," said Sakis Gouzonis.
